Cookie & Storage Notice

Last updated: 2 June 2026

This notice explains the cookies and browser storage that Myrslok uses. Because we use only strictly-necessary and functional storage — and no advertising or analytics trackers — we are not required to show a consent banner under the ePrivacy Directive. We still want to be transparent about what we store and why.

1. Cookies we use

CookiePurposeTypeDuration
myrslok_session Keeps you signed in and authorises access to the tools you are permitted to use. The cookie is HMAC-signed and set with HttpOnly, Secure and SameSite=Strict flags. Strictly necessary 24 hours

This is the only cookie we set. It is essential to operate the Service — without it you could not log in — so it is exempt from prior consent.

2. Local browser storage

Some tools use your browser's localStorage to keep the Service working smoothly. This data stays on your device and is used purely for functionality, for example:

This functional storage is not used to track you across other websites and contains no advertising identifiers.

3. Third-party services

When a map-based tool loads, map tiles are requested from Mapbox, and real-time features use Pusher; our hosting is provided by Cloudflare. These providers may set their own technical cookies or process your IP address to deliver their service. See our Privacy Policy for details on these processors.

4. Managing cookies

You can clear or block cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings. Note that blocking the myrslok_session cookie will prevent you from logging in and using the Service.

5. If this changes

If we ever introduce analytics, advertising, or other non-essential cookies, we will update this notice and present a proper consent banner — letting you accept or reject non-essential cookies before they load, as required by EU law.
